A Most Worthy Objective: Trust and Honor God
This morning, I awoke much earlier than planned but knew with confidence the time was right for getting out of bed. Perhaps you have experienced the same awakening.
Worthy Objective
After I got out of bed and dressed for the day, I gladly got down on my knees to thank God for the opportunity and ability to love Him another day. Included in my prayers, I enjoyed the opportunity to love God and ask for guidance and protection over my family, friends, men and women in protective agencies worldwide, and my neighbors.
Since I was up a bit earlier than normal, my prayer time was extended and included thanking God for worthy direction concerning my opportunity to write today on my website. I have been a writer since the early 70’s, primarily journaling by hand in my notebooks. My preferred writing to this day is by hand, though my writing seems to be getting more challenging for even me to read.
My first journals included family activities, then more about my desires concerning my vocations. All of my journaling included wondering the direction God wanted me to walk. Unfortunately, though God was always here to guide me, I was often too preoccupied to listen to Him and follow His guidance.
Trust God
I titled this blog Trust and Honor God because my environment has been much more peaceful since I have. Trusting someone is challenging for me. From family to earlier so-called friends, my past experiences have not promoted the idea. I’ve learned that before I can honor anyone, I must genuinely trust them.
In the bible and in the book of Matthew, chapter 21:21-22, God talks about faith. I realize my faith is real when I trust in the power of God. When I reflect on my past experiences, several defy normal occurrences, and I have felt God in my walk. And I remember smiling and being thankful each time I felt God in my walk. I have highlighted and noted many verses in the Bible recently concerning faith. With these bible verses, which are the promises from God, my faith and trust are growing stronger.
Now, each morning, sometimes even before I get out of bed, I thank God for the opportunity and ability to trust Him. I smile then and even now as I write these words. For me, to have the opportunity to trust God today is a privilege I’m happy to have. God often tells us to have faith as a mustard seed, and He says whatever we ask in prayer, believing we shall receive. This is the trust or faith I desire and am learning how to have. One of my many prayers is that you, as my neighbor, will trust God.
Interestingly, the bible has answers to all of our questions and problems; we only have to open the bible and seek them. I used to wonder simply who is my neighbor that God keeps telling me to love. I move around quite often, and in the usual sense of the word, my neighbor today isn’t the same as a year ago. The bible informed me my neighbor is whoever needs my help. Well, that certainly narrowed it down for me. When I experience true joy, I want to share the experience the best way I can. Today writing is the best way for me to relate to you, my family, friends, and neighbors.
Honor God
To reflect God in our thoughts and actions is a way to honor God. The central theme of my blog and website is Faith and Fitness. Faith and Fitness is my life. I begin each day, as I said earlier, by praising and thanking God for the opportunity to live and love another day. Peace happens in my life when I live for and honor God.
Writing is a skill I continue to develop to communicate effectively how I may help other people. My daily desire is to help others know God and to take action to maintain their bodies correctly. I was privileged to be a successful Personal Trainer in Atlanta for over 20 years and, before that, in Mississippi and Florida. I enjoyed one one-on-one interaction encouraging and instructing folks how to be healthier, more flexible, and stronger. I was blessed to make great friends, a few of which I continue to communicate with today. I honor God as I help others enjoy the physical strength they want and need. And I pray my writing today and tomorrow will honor God and encourage my family, friends, and neighbors to expand their faith and fitness. I encourage you to sign up via email on my www.rushwalter.com website, and you will be sent a newsletter each week that will share insights on a more personal level. I hope to have folks respond and let me know topics you would like to learn more about regarding Faith and Fitness.
Thank you for reading this blog. I pray you enjoy a healthy day.

Proverbs 3:3-6 Do not let kindness and truth leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good repute in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will make your paths straight.
